A little More About Me...

As a dedicated athlete for most of my life, I’ve carried many of the values instilled in me through sports as a child throughout my adult life. Perseverance, adaptability, respect, honesty, trust, teamwork, integrity, and compassion are values that I'm grateful I learned from a young age. Not only has being an athlete taught me the values above, but has taught me the values of hard work and dedication. I was able to bring these values into other passions of mine such as communications. In my current role as a Business Development Coordinator, I take each of my skills and apply them to be the best I can be at my job. Through organizational skills, time management skills, teamwork, and integrity I have been able to take on many roles in my current position. Throughout my entire education, I have also had a passion for working with children. Whether it be coaching them in soccer or tutoring them I loved teaching and making a positive impact as many of my mentors and coaches have done for me. For four years in high school, I coached children in soccer at the local Boy's and Girl's Club. When I started college I joined The Big Brothers and Big Sisters of America where throughout 4 years I was able to be a mentor to 2 elementary school students. I also volunteered at the Community Writing Center where I tutored children with behavioral issues. Each of these experiences has shown me the positive impact of being a mentor and friend to young children, all while teaching me the importance of patience and listening. Spending most of my childhood in hockey rinks supporting my brother, the thought of not being in a hockey rink as I moved away to college just didn't feel right. This is why I decided to manage the Men's Hockey Team at my University. Not only has this position taught me organization skills and time management skills, but it has also left me with many long-lasting friendships. Lastly, I am very passionate about art. From a young age, I had always admired art and found it to be a calming hobby. Little did I know I could take my talent and turn it into a job. When I was presented with the opportunity to make pages for coloring books, it seemed like the perfect way to turn something I loved doing into a job. Making the coloring book taught me collaboration skills, time management skills, and the impact art has on others.
